This tour brings you to Skidegate’s Haida Heritage Centre, Balance Rock, and optionally Spirit Lake—blending rich cultural insight with gentle nature walks, all guided by a local with a passion for sharing Haida Gwaii’s landscapes.

What to Expect:

Scenic Drive:
Enjoy a beautiful drive from Sandspit to Skidegate with ocean views, coastal forests.

Breakfast To-Go:

We stop at Jags Café for breakfast and coffee to go. Enjoy local favourites to fuel your morning adventure. (Not available on weekends)

Haida Heritage Centre at Ḵay Llnagaay:
Have a walk through this world-class cultural site and museum. Explore Haida art, totem poles, carved canoes, and exhibits that highlight the deep connection between the Haida people, land, and sea.

Balance Rock:
Visit this iconic and sacred natural feature—an enormous boulder balanced on the shoreline. It’s a great spot for quiet reflection and photos.

Spirit Lake (Optional):
For those wanting a short nature walk, Spirit Lake offers a peaceful forest trail through mossy rainforest. Easy to moderate terrain, depending on group interest and time.

• Comfortable footwear (light walking/hiking)

• Small backpack

• Weather-appropriate clothing (layers, rain jacket, warm sweater)

• Water bottle

• Camera

• Personal snacks

Requirements:

• A waiver must be signed by all participants prior to the start of the activity.

• At sign up participants must complete a form providing any relevant medical information, including allergies.
